Bibliography of John Peter Wild

Dr J P Wild was responsible for making the study of archaeological textiles a university subject in Britain. He began publishing in 1963 and is still active today. He has been primarily focused on textiles and clothing of the Roman world, a broad arena that stretches from the excavated textiles from Vindolanda in Northumberland (UK) to studies of the Roman Empire's import of Indian cottons. His corpus includes archaeological catalogues, investigations of the written sources and sculptural evidence, and some interesting early philological papers, all of which are still worth reading.
